Audition to Co-host Morristown ONSTAGE!

Morristown ONSTAGE will be live once again at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. New for our 18th year, auditions have been expanded to search for a dedicated student co-host! We are looking for 1 or 2 charismatic students to co-host the show alongside our lovely host of the last 10 years, Tara Bernie. The selected co-host(s) will partner with Tara throughout the entire show to introduce the finalists, interview VIPs in the audience, talk about the Morris Educational Foundation and more!  

The Morristown ONSTAGE ideal co-host is:
- attending Morristown High School or Frelinghuysen Middle School
- energetic and upbeat
- comfortable on stage
- willing to share stories about life in Morristown

The deadline to register is Sunday, December 22. Audition by registering below! 

Morristown ONSTAGE 2025

How to Audition:

All auditions must be submitted via the online form below. In addition, submit a 1-minute video showing off your hosting skills. Please include the following in your video submission:

  1. Self-introduction
  2. One fun fact or something you love about Morristown
  3. A mock introduction of the following fictional act: "Morristown High School principal Mark Manning singing Chappell Roan's song Hot To Go".

The video should be shot simply from a phone camera, without any editing or touching up. We are not looking for production value or editing skill. Be yourself, show off your personality, and let us see why you’d be the perfect co-host!

Submission Requirements:

  • Photo of yourself uploaded as a JPG
  • Co-host audition video can be no longer than 1 minute
  • Max upload 2GB
  • BE PATIENT - uploads can take time, but it is worth it!

Availability Requirements
If I am selected as a co-host, I agree that I MUST attend Media Day on Sat, January 11, 2025 at Morristown High School and show day on Tues, March 4, 2025 at MPAC.
Media and Information Release Agreement
I hereby give my permission to allow my name and photograph to be placed in the program for Morristown ONSTAGE. I further agree to allow Morristown ONSTAGE to photograph and/or videotape me (or my child) during the show and that such photographs or video may be broadcast or published by public media including, but not limited to, local newspapers, online sites and television. I release my image/likeness to be used as the Morris Educational Foundation sees fit.

WAIVER, RELEASE INDEMNITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

In consideration of being allowed to participate in the 2025 Auditions for Morristown ONSTAGE, I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

1.    I agree to indemnify, hold free and harmless, assume liability for, and defend the Morris School District Board of Education (“BOE”), its chartered affiliates, agents, servants, employees, administrators, Board Members, and the Morris Educational Foundation and its Board Members, employees, volunteers, successors and assigns (collectively the "MEF"), from any and all costs and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s fees,  reasonable investigative and discovery costs,  court costs,  and all other sums which the BOE, its chartered affiliates, agents, servants, employees, administrators, and Board Members may pay or become obligated to pay, all and every demand for, claim or assertion of liability or any claim or action founded thereon, arising or alleged to have arisen out of my use or potential use of district facilities, equipment, or fields.

2.    I understand that Morris School District property, facilities, and equipment includes, but is not limited to, all areas identified in the application and/or permit, sidewalks, walkways, parking lots, entrances, stairs, and all other areas incidental to and/or connected with the use of the premises.

3.    I agree to bind myself, my successors and assigns, and will indemnify and hold harmless the District and the MEF from any and all loss, including, but not limited to, damage or injury, pain, suffering, illness, or loss, including death, that may occur as a result of the voluntary activity. I further agree that if a suit is brought against the District or the MEF for any claim released, or any risk or liability assumed, by me under this Agreement, that I will be responsible for attorney’s fees and any costs incurred by the District or the MEF in defending such action. As a condition for use of property of the District, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to defend, indemnify, save and hold harmless the MEF and the Morris School District, its employees, representatives, and agents from any and all losses, claims, liabilities, demands, lawsuits, allegations, and judgments, including attorney fees and recoverable costs, (singularly or collectively 'claims') including claims for bodily, emotional, and personal injury, property damage or loss, brought or made against it, arising out of, relating to, caused by, or resulting from my use of the District’s facilities, including claims relating to, arising out of, or caused by the physical condition of the facilities, whether or not the basis of the claim(s) was caused by or contributed to, in whole or in part, by me, my successors and assigns.

4.    I expressly agree that I have carefully read this Agreement and understand its effects. This is a binding legal document, an enforceable contract and not a mere recital. It is the intent of the parties that if any part of this Agreement is held invalid, then the remainder of its provisions will remain enforceable to the fullest extent allowable by law.

I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
