MHS Mental Health First Aid - $21,000
All MHS staff received a full day of training from Mental Health Association in New Jersey, Inc. facilitators to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges among children and adolescents.
That evening, parents and community members attended a parent education program at MHS covering an abbreviated version of the staff’s training. Fantastic conversations between facilitators and attendees revolved around how to support students. This grant is the bedrock for a long-term investment in mental health support in the District and hopes to act as a pilot for other communities in New Jersey and beyond in addressing mental health in schools.
