Second Grade Author Event - $10,428.00
Building on our past success, the MEF brought back Sarah Aronson to share her book Just Like Rube Goldberg with 375 second graders at Alfred Vail, Hillcrest, Normandy Park, and Woodland Park schools. In addition to receiving their own signed copy of the book, students learned about the famous inventor and were encouraged to be curious about the world as a way to foster their love of reading and writing.
This author experience was complemented with school visits from the Morris Museum's Mobile SPARK!LAB. The visits brought unique hands-on learning activities to each school, including a balancing building structure, gear creation, a vertical wind tunnel, and a jack-o-lantern thaumatrope.
