Description: The Ann Marie (DeFazio) and Marc Manahan Scholarship was established in January 2025 by two proud Morristown High School (MHS) alumni. Ann Marie (‘88) and Marc (‘88) are forever grateful to MHS for giving them the opportunity to explore their passions, hone their talents, and grow with and learn from the entire MHS community.
The scholarship will be awarded to a dedicated and engaged MHS senior who, like the Manahans, has fully embraced MHS’s rich culture by participating in athletics or clubs, or by helping others. This student must demonstrate a strong commitment to the MHS community and personal growth while expressing gratitude for the opportunities MHS has provided. Financial need is preferred. The award is $15,000, $7,500 per year for two years. The scholarship must be used to pay tuition at a 2 or 4-year college or university or trade school.
Criteria: The Ann Marie (DeFazio) and Marc Manahan Scholarship will be open to all Morristown High School seniors who embraced their MHS experience, adding to the school’s rich culture by participating in athletics or clubs or by helping others.
To be considered for this scholarship, the Morristown High School senior must:
o Submit a complete MEF Common Scholarship Application online with the required supplemental essay.
Preference will be given to applicants with financial need.
To qualify for the second year of the scholarship, the recipient must submit a first year transcript and an update on their first year of college.
Application Requirements:

❏ Complete a supplemental essay (300 words or less) on the following:
What has Morristown High School meant to you? How did it shape you? How did you add to its culture?
❏ Complete the Financial Information Application Supplement
❏ Provide two letters of recommendation – one from their MHS guidance counselor and one from a MHS teacher, coach or staff member who can endorse the applicant’s passion for MHS.
